Montes uses first-class bovine leather and chromium-free vegetable dyeing in an ethical manner. Leathers are carefully cleaned, dehaired, and preserved with salt; then dyed with tannins from oak galls, quebracho, mimosa, and chestnut bark to achieve durability, flexibility, and rich color.
