The leathers are carefully cleaned, dehaired, and preserved with salt; then they are dyed with tannins from oak galls, red ironwood, mimosa, and chestnut bark to achieve durability, flexibility, and rich color. The leathers are left as natural as possible, semi-finished at the tannery, and hand-dyed with natural dyes. They offer a shiny, long-lasting finish.
